Does attending NTI in a previous year fulfill the requirement to attend TPOT or TPITOS reliability training?

No. Having attended NTI does not count as fulfilling the prerequisite.

How do I get the prerequisite 3-day Pyramid Model training needed to attend the TPOT or TPITOS reliability training?

You can fulfill the prerequisite by completing the training modules on the CSEFEL website. Another option is to sit in on a training. To arrange this, contact the person in your district in charge of coordinating trainings, or email Rob Corso of the Pyramid Model Consortium.

Where can I find a detailed agenda for NTI?

NTI session offerings are normally finalized in January. In the meantime, if you need to see a representative sample of the types of sessions and topics covered, you can view last year's NTI program.

Can I register for individual sessions in advance?

All session workshops are first-come, first-served. Advance signup for sessions is not available. We recommend planning a first and second choice, in case your first choice session becomes full.

Once a session is full and a 'session full' sign is posted on the door, you may not enter the session. We ask that you please be courteous to the hosts if they deny entry—they are your colleagues!

I would like to be a presenter at NTI. How do I submit a presenter proposal?

Currently, the National Training Institute on Effective Practices: Addressing Challenging Behavior does not have an open call for presentation proposals. Workshop sessions are generally conducted by Center faculty, presenters from our state networks, or invited presenters. If you would like to be considered for an invitation to present, please contact us using the contact form on this page. Please be advised that there are very few slots available for additional presentations.

Do you accept purchase orders or checks?

Unfortunately, we no longer accept purchase orders or checks. We do accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.

My grant funding doesn’t come in until later. Can you hold a spot for me until I am able to pay?

Due to the popularity of this sell-out conference, we are unable to hold spots for individuals or organizations. Registration is filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

How do I register for NTI?

Participants register for NTI through the FCIC National Training Institute Store. For step-by-step instructions on how to register, read How to Register.

I cannot attend every day of the conference. Can I pay a prorated registration for the days I attend?

Prorated or partial attendance rates are not available for NTI. Participants pay the same registration fees whether they attend only one day or all days of the conference.

Is there a group discount, a student or family member registration rate?

At this time we do not offer any discounts on the registration fee.

Can I volunteer at the conference in exchange for a free registration?

Unfortunately at this time we do not recruit volunteers outside of our organization.

I did not receive or have lost my registration receipt. How do I get another one?

Once you complete your registration purchase, you will immediately receive a purchase confirmation receipt to the email you submitted with your credit card information. Please check your junk mail folder, or spam blocker, if you do not see it in your inbox. If you still cannot find your email confirmation, or have lost the email, please contact us, by filling out the form on this page, to request a copy.

Website says the conference is sold out, but I really want to attend. Can you squeeze me in?

This conference is known to sell out as early as January (3 months out). Once the conference is sold out, registration will be closed. A waiting list option may be made available at this time. In order to provide the best training experience possible, we cannot admit participants beyond our established capacity. If you were not able to get in this year, be sure to join our mailing list to get timely announcements.

Is there a waitlist once the conference is filled?

Once the conference is full, a link to add your name to the waitlist will be provided on the Home page. Please note that in previous years, over 100 people have requested to be added to the waitlist. The possibility of being able to register after being added to the waitlist are slim and if spots open up, it is usually within a week of the conference start date.

Can I get a refund if I cancel my registration?

Registration cancellations received at least seven (7) weeks before the start of the conference will be eligible for a refund, minus a portion of the registration. Missed the refund deadline? Registrants may send a substitute in their place in lieu of requesting a cancellation/refund. Requests for substitution must be made in writing at least two (2) weeks before the start of the conference. Please contact us to request a substitution.

I need to cancel my registration. How do I do that?

Don't forget to cancel your hotel reservations with the Vinoy! Cancelling your registration for NTI does not automatically cancel your hotel reservations. Upon making your reservation at the Vinoy® Renaissance St. Petersburg, you were charged a room deposit equal to 1-night's stay (plus tax). Hotel deposits are refundable for cancellations made at least 60 days before your hotel check-in date. If a cancellation is made after this date, the deposit will be forfeited. Instead of cancelling my registration, can I have someone else go in my place?

I'm having trouble booking a hotel room. Can you help?

Please call the Vinoy® Renaissance St. Petersburg Group Reservations office at 1-888-789-3090 (toll-free) or 1-888-303-4430 (local) so that they may assist you with your NTI hotel accommodations. Please Note: Upon making your reservation, you will be charged a room deposit equal to 1-night's stay (plus tax). How do attendees dress for this conference?

Most attendees dress in business casual or casual attire. However, although it will be warm in Florida the session rooms are very cold! We do our best to keep the rooms comfortable but strongly advise you to bring a jacket or a sweater.

Can I get CEUs for this conference?

Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are being offered through Portland State University (PSU). CEUs are an acknowledgment that the individual participated in a professional development activity. CEUs are awarded per workshop attended. Participants will receive 0.1 CEU hours for every 1 hour of conference participation. CEUs are available for pre-conferences and workshops.

Can I get CEUs specific to my agency/line of work?

CEUs provided are general CEUs and are not specific to any licensing agency. Please note that CEUs are not available for residents of Arkansas and Minnesota.

I forgot to purchase CEUs when registering for the conference. Can I purchase them after-the-fact?

To purchase CEUs individually, visit the FCIC store and select the option for CEUs only. You can always visit us at the registration desk at the start of the conference to purchase CEUs and pick up your CEU form.

I am in a wheelchair or have a mobility impairment. Is the conference hotel accessible?

The Vinoy is a historic hotel however it is fully accessible. Please see the following map with highlighted ADA accessible routes. If you have questions about accessibility please contact the general manager of the Vinoy.

I have a food allergy or dietary restriction. Will meals be provided at NTI?

At NTI we provide breakfast and lunch on select days. The Vinoy makes every effort to accommodate participants’ special dietary needs. Please make sure to note any dietary restrictions when registering for NTI, or email your requirements to us. Be sure to reference your order number.

Is there Wifi in the meeting rooms?

Yes. You can find the conference Wifi code in the printed NTI program.

Does this conference have an app?

Yes. We will announce on our home page and mailing list when this year's event app is available. Once available, it can be downloaded to your mobile device via Google Store or Apple Store by searching NTI2017.
