Have you been wondering how to implement community-wide PBS in your community? Join this session to discuss ideas that may work for you. Leave with a plan!

In 2008, a group of 15 early childhood programs in the greater Peoria, IL area came together to support in-depth professional development on the Pyramid Model as the framework. Early childhood professionals came as teams from local Early Head Start/ Head Start, private child care and preschools, United Way, non-for-profit and for profit EC programs, special education, mental health organizations, school districts, and faith-affiliated programs. Each team then developed a plan to implement PBS in their EC program as well as how to move forward as a community.

In this session, we will examine the focused efforts and processes this early childhood community has taken over the last eight years to increase the awareness, knowledge and skills of a diverse urban and rural population in central Illinois. Topics will include: collaboration, data-collection, funding options, challenges and lessons learned.
